As mentioned earlier, bladder cancer is the most time sensitive disease that urologists deal with. It’s treatment is frequently quite complex and is often undertaken with the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT)
This is a particular area of expertise of Dr Awad, as it was the sole focus of one of his international fellowships.
He has one of the largest Australian single surgeon series of the surgical treatment of bladder cancer (cystectomy), with results comparable to the best international series. He also has extensive experience in the formation of new bladders from bowel, if required (neobladder).
